Wrongful Death

Wrongful death is defined as the death of an individual caused by another person or a legal entity such as a company, whether the other party's act was intentional or negligent or reckless. Many circumstances may give rise to a wrongful death, including murder and assault; reckless driving or other kinds of vehicle accidents; a defective product, drug, or machine; the failure of a building or bridge to conform to code, resulting in a fire or collapse; a doctor's failure to diagnose a fatal disease; and negligent police pursuits. The cause of a given wrongful death may be complex, involving intentional, reckless or negligent acts by one or more parties, including the deceased.
